Complete technical specifications, sizing guide and use cases for professionals.
1Context and importance of electrical protection in 2026
According to data from the Statistical Institute of Catalonia and studies from the European electrical sector, power interruptions —including micro-outages of less than 20 ms, voltage fluctuations and transient spikes— represent the main cause of data loss and electronic equipment failure in office and SME environments. In 2025-2026, the growing integration of intermittent renewable energies into the electrical grid has increased the variability of the supplied voltage, expanding the need for active voltage regulation (AVR) to environments that previously did not require it.
Salicru structures its offer for end users and professionals in three complementary levels of protection:
Level 1: Basic Protection
The SPS SAFE S protectors absorb voltage spikes and lightning but do not offer autonomy. Ideal for domestic devices or office peripherals where a brief outage is not critical.
Level 2: Line-Interactive UPS
The SPS SOHO+ combines surge protection with AVR regulation and battery autonomy (15–30 min typical), ideal for SOHO, offices and retail stores.
Level 3: On-Line double conversion UPS
The SLC TWIN RT3 LION provides complete isolation and pure sine wave output without any transition, the maximum protection for servers, medical equipment and critical IT infrastructures.
2SPS SOHO+: the ideal Line-Interactive UPS for small offices and SOHO environments
The quintessential uninterruptible power supply solution for freelancers, small offices, retail stores and coworking spaces. Buck/Boost AVR technology, dual fast charging USB charger and LCD monitoring all in a compact and silent tower format.
The Salicru SPS SOHO+ series is specifically designed for Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) environments, with powers ranging from 750 VA / 420 W up to 2250 VA / 1350 W. Its line-interactive technology with Buck/Boost type automatic voltage regulator (AVR) manages electrical grid fluctuations without resorting to batteries, which significantly extends its lifespan and reduces maintenance costs.

12Complete comparison of the three Salicru solutions
Selecting the appropriate electrical protection solution requires understanding the fundamental differences between technologies. This comparison summarizes the key aspects to facilitate the decision:
13Complete sizing guide: which Salicru product do I need?
Identify the equipment to be protected and add up their consumption in Watts
Each electronic equipment has a nominal power in Watts (W) that you will find on its back label or in the manual. Add up the consumption of all the devices you want to connect simultaneously to the UPS or protector.
Apply the 25% safety factor
Multiply the total sum by 1.25. This ensures that the UPS does not work at 100% of its capacity (which shortens the battery life) and leaves room for future growth or load peaks during equipment startup.
Determine the type of protection needed
If you need the equipment to keep running → UPS. If the supply is stable enough and you do not need autonomy, but want to protect against spikes → SPS SAFE S protector. If the equipment to be protected is especially sensitive (servers, medical equipment) → RT3 LION on-line UPS.
Estimate the required autonomy
For an orderly shutdown of a server, 5–10 minutes are usually sufficient. To continue working during 30–60 minute outages, consider external battery modules (EBM) for compatible models. For indefinite continuity, a generator set is needed in combination with the UPS.
Select the specific model and verify the output connector
Check if your equipment uses Schuko connectors (mostly consumer and office devices) or IEC C13/C19 (servers, switches, rack IT equipment). The IEC versions of the SPS SOHO+ and the C13/C19 sockets of the RT3 LION cover both needs.
Domestic use and light telecommuting
- Basic protection (spikes) → SPS SAFE 4S or 6S
- Protection + continuity <5 min → SPS 750 SOHO+
- Full telecommuting → SPS 900–1250 SOHO+
SOHO and SME offices
- 1 PC + peripherals → SPS 1250–1650 SOHO+
- Local network + NAS → SPS 2250 SOHO+
- Light file server → SLC 1000 RT3 LION
Critical IT infrastructures
- Production server → SLC 2000 RT3 LION
- Full rack (data center) → SLC 3000 RT3 LION
- Virtualization / Storage → SLC 3000 + EBM
14Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Salicru electrical protection
- Line-Interactive (SPS SOHO+): corrects voltage fluctuations via AVR without using the batteries. Switches to batteries in <4 ms in case of total outage. Ideal for SOHO where the grid is reasonably stable. Excellent value for money.
- On-line double conversion (SLC TWIN RT3 LION): continuously transforms the current (AC→DC→AC), offering a pure sine wave output without any switching. Switching time: 0 ms. Total galvanic isolation from the grid. Maximum protection for critical equipment.
LiFePO4 batteries surpass VRLA in all key aspects: they last 2,000–3,000 cycles vs 300–500 of VRLA (6–10 times more), recharge in 2–4 hours vs 8–12 hours, operate in a temperature range of -20°C to +60°C (VRLA degrade above +30°C), allow hot-swap without turning off the UPS, do not contain lead or acid (lower environmental impact) and reduce TCO by 40% in 10 years by eliminating periodic battery replacements.
For a desktop computer (150W) + monitor (30W) + router (15W) the total load is ~195W × 1.25 = 244W → the SPS 750 SOHO+ (420W) is sufficient with margin. For a laptop (65W) + external display (25W) + router (15W) = 105W × 1.25 = 131W → the SPS 750 SOHO+ is more than enough. If you add a NAS (40W) or a laser printer (350W startup), upgrade to the SPS 1250 SOHO+.
Yes. The SLC TWIN RT3 LION is compatible with grid-tied photovoltaic solar installations. In Eco Mode, it optimizes the use of available renewable energy.
