Introduction to water pressure boosting for domestic applications and how to select the right booster pump
SCALA
One of the most important things about La Scala is the fact that it is a very compact pump that includes all the necessary elements of the installation, saving installation time and space.
Scala is a system for increasing water pressure. It is a piece of equipment that allows you to maintain the same flow of water by increasing the pressure so that there is more demand, such as maintaining the flow of water from one tap as other taps open.
It is important to choose the right pressure boost pump, which is why Grundfos has created a quick selection guide with all the data you need to choose the right pump.
One of the most important things about Scala is that it is a very compact pump that includes all the necessary elements of the installation, saving installation time and space.
The fact that all the elements are built-in means that it does not require additional installation time. It achieves that so much the installation like the commissioning require less time for his realization, saving in costs and reducing the necessary time for his use thanks to a simple start up with only 3 steps.

Quick and easy installations
1. Connect the pipes: The adjustable input and output connections allow you to easily rotate +/- 5 ° to allow quick installation.
2. Stoke pump: The largest priming cap has been made to fill the water tank quickly and easily. You must fill the pump with a minimum of 1.7 liters of water.
3. Connect the pump to the electricity and it will be activated.
Scala1 or Scala2
Within the Scala range, we can find Scala1 and Scala2. Scala1 is a pressure boost system, while Scala2 is a pressure boost pump.
Scala 1 allows us to combine two pumps working in parallel so that they can be alternated to increase the optimization of use and reduce wear and avoid downtime in case one of the pumps fails (Duty / Standby ), or they can be configured to work so that one acts as the main and the other puts more pressure in case the demand requires it (Duty / assist). In this second case the function of the main one is also alternated to balance its wear.
Grundfos has prepared a visual video guide to show the basics of the performance adjustment setting in Scala1 pressure boost system.
In the case of Scala 1 if we use the Grundfos Go Remote application, we will optimize the use, or to define some parameters that can only be defined from the application as the type of use in the case of Twin pumps (two Scala1 working in parallel). We can see it in the tutorial prepared by Grundfos.
