During the development of the collection, carbon dioxide emissions associated with ALBA’s production process have been reduced by up to 93%. In addition, all visible surfaces of the line are composed of more than 90% recycled materials, creating a high-quality product from materials that are reusable and, therefore, achieving an exceptional and polished finish, and it turns out to be the most sustainable collection.
Speaking about ALBA, Iñaki Lete, director of the Niessen factory, stated: “When raw materials end up as waste, resources are wasted. The recovery of valuable materials enables sustainable production to meet current and future needs, and we must ensure this process to ensure high quality sustainable design in our production. ALBA has a strong focus on sustainability in both the use and production of materials and is a clear example of our commitment to a more sustainable future by driving circularity throughout the product life cycle.”

Nerea Vesga, Head of Design and R&D at Niessen, says: “Recognition by the iF DESIGN AWARD and Red Dot 2024 awards is a great honor and encourages us in our holistic approach to function and aesthetics, as well as our constant commitment to innovation and quality to create exceptional product experiences for the customers and users of tomorrow.”
These awards come at a crucial time for Niessen, which will mark its 110th anniversary this year. This objective reaffirms the brand’s leadership and praises its commitment to sustainability, innovation and design.
