EU Regulation on Energy Labeling
The European Union, thanks to the SLR (Single Lighting Regulation) and ELR (Energy Labeling Regulation) regulations, intends to follow the path towards efficient and environmentally friendly lighting.
Both regulations redefine the sustainability of lighting products and energy efficiency labelling.
The new EU regulations came into force in December 2019 and are currently being implemented in phases.
The new energy efficiency label entered into force in September 2021, however, as of March 1, 2023, no product containing the old label may be marketed.
Ledvance substitute products for products that expire
As of this date, those distributors with products that do not have the correct label will be responsible for printing and putting a new label sticker in order to sell them.
