AC500 V3 and AC500-eCo V3 have been redesigned for improved availability
ABB’s AC500 V3 and AC500-eCo V3 central processing units (CPUs) have undergone a redesign with the primary objective of enhancing their availability.
In practical terms, this optimization means that these CPUs will only be compatible with Automation Builder software 2.6 or later, as well as with firmware version 3.6 or higher.
This focus on improving compatibility and synchronization with the latest software and firmware versions ensures a more efficient and advanced user experience.
Can only be used with Automation Builder 2.6 or higher
For new customers:
For customers starting fresh now no problem, just make sure they work with Automation Builder 2.6 from the start to avoid any incompatibility issues.
For Existing Customers:
Instead, customers who are already using our CPUs will be able to continue with their existing programs, but will need to upgrade to Automation Builder version 2.6. It is likely that we will receive inquiries in the coming months because projects that were working might not work on the new CPUs.
Steps to follow if you experience problems
- Open your project in the version of Automation Builder you were using until now.
- Save the project to a file.
- Open your project file in Automation Builder version 2.6 or higher.
- Read the dialog box to update the project and confirm the update.
