New Automation Builder 2.7 - Download available

Automation Builder is available in Basic, Standard, and Premium editions, meeting the needs of small projects and handling the challenges of many and large projects for OEMs and system integrators.

Start working immediately: After installation, at the first start of Automation Builder you can choose between different licenses:

30-Day Free Trial License – Unlocks standard and premium features.
Free Basic Edition.
Standard or premium license purchased.
- Licenses can be activated, deleted and transferred at any time.
- Availability of network licenses for installation on a license server.

Lifecycle Support: Starting with Automation Builder 2.6, side-by-side installation of individual releases is allowed. To access previous versions, we recommend installing Automation Builder 2.5 and including the required previous version profiles (Automation Builder 2.4 and earlier) in this installation.

What's new in the new version of Automation Builder 2.7.0

This new version includes new features such as:

Multi download tool to download the program or update the firmware in several PLCs simultaneously.
Motion Solution Wizard update.
Flexible hardware configuration on the local IO bus. Modules can be disabled without removing them from the project.
Tool Calling Interface to connect third-party. PROFINET and PROFIsafe equipment.
Web version of the help menu.
Better performance.

In addition, at the portfolio level, the following references have been incorporated:

SafetyBlocks_PLCopen_LV200_AC500_v22.lib – New safety library for AC500-S
CM598-CN: Communications module to add CAN ports to AC500 V3 CPUs
OPC UA Client on AC500 V3 and AC500-eCo (except PM5012): in order to use this functionality, the PS5616-UACli or PS5616-UACli-e runtime license is required
Technology previews:
- PS5614-DNP3: runtime license to communicate using the DNP3 remote control protocol. Can be used on AC500 V3, PM5072 and PM5082 CPUs.
- PS5620-HVAC: Libraries for HVAC applications. It is available for standard AC500 V3 CPUs.

Some new features have been included that are not yet for sale, but can already be seen in the software. These are:

CM5610-2RS: Communications module to add serial ports to AC500 V3 CPUs. It is scheduled to go on sale in March 2024.
EtherCAT onboard for the
PM5072 and PM5082: To use this functionality, the PS5615-ECAT-e runtime license is required

They have also designed a summary flyer of the current range and a summary of the PLC and HMI portfolio.

Latest version of Automation Builder: Automation Builder 2.7.0

Before you get started with Automation Builder 2.7, consider important installation options before installation:

Parallel installation
Automation Builder allows parallel installation. During the installation process it is not possible to select previous versions for integration into Automation Builder 2.7. If access to Automation Builder version 2.5 or earlier is required, we recommend installing Automation Builder 2.5 first (optionally includes earlier versions) and then installing Automation Builder 2.7. You can access the download links for Automation Builder 2.5 through the Automation Builder 2.5 section below. Automation Builder 2.6 can be installed or uninstalled independently of Automation Builder 2.7.

Tip: For technical reasons, there are some shared components between different versions of Automation Builder. Despite the parallel installation of Automation Builder versions, these components will still be shared. Examples of shared components are AC500 V2 libraries or Codesys V2 engineering and gateway.

64-bit version
Automation Builder is also available as a 64-bit version with a separate installer. The 64-bit version is required for handling large projects.

Tip: You cannot install the same 64-bit and 32-bit version of Automation Builder side by side.

Tip: For technical reasons, the migration of AC500 V2 to AC500 V3 libraries is not available with the 64-bit version.
