KIT STH PICV
NEW HYDRAULIC BALANCING KIT.
The flexible solution developed by STH for easy installation and
maintenance of HVAC terminal units
KIT STH PICV is the flexible solution developed by STH for easy installation and maintenance of HVAC (Heating – Ventilation – Air Conditioning) terminal units such as fan coils, heat exchangers, etc. Each KIT is pre-assembled and tested by STH to guarantee a good installation, reduce assembly operations and prevent possible damage to the HVAC terminals.
Is the result of STH’s experience in this type of product. In order to provide the most reliable solution for HVAC applications, the components of the kits are manufactured in DZR (resistance to loss of zinc) materials, avoiding possible breakage due to corrosion.
The main features of PICV
The new STH PICV balancing valve is characterized by:
- Speed of start-up.
- Allows cleaning and/or disassembly while the rest of the system continues to function.
- Automatic flow control
- With the proportional actuator (ON/OFF) you can
perform the function of closing the valve. - Materials and control systems are certified.
PICV preset allows you to select constant flow rate (by dynamic balancing) through the terminal unit.
PICV differential pressure should be within its working range and can be checked with STH’s T650 electronic gauge, connected to the needle type pressure taps on the valve.
Schemes of Operation of PICV
1. NORMAL OPERATION
Under normal operating conditions of the terminal unit, the by-pass is closed and the isolation valves are open. A Y-type strainer is fitted to one end to protect the unit from possible debris, and a PICV is fitted to the return to regulate flow through the hydraulic circuit.
2. SYSTEM CLEANING
3. CLEANING THE UNIT
By installing a purge point on the PICV balancing valve, with the by-pass open and both isolation ball valves closed, it is possible to clean the terminal unit without closing the circuit.
4. DIRECT CLEANING
Before starting up the terminal unit, it is advisable to bleed the system to eliminate possible residues that may affect the correct operation of the unit.
KIT STH PICV allows to easily perform this function by opening the by-pass and closing both isolation valves. The same configuration can be used for unit maintenance.
Closing the by-pass and outlet valve and opening the inlet valve, it is possible to clean the inlet pipe and Y strainer.
Additional features
Pressure tap installed on the filter can be used, in combination with the PICV pressure tap, to check the differential pressure in the terminal unit, using the T650 STH electronic gauge, even when it is operating normally.
The strainer fitted to the supply end can also be used to purge the system, via the drain valve mounted on the bottom of the valve.
Filter cap can be unscrewed and the mesh, made of stainless steel, can be washed and replaced before reuse. The seat between the filter body and the cover is made of PTFE.
A bleeder can be fitted, as an option, to the supply end, allowing air to be bled from the system in this position.
